Feeding & Storage
At Two Zaddies, we source fresh, real ingredients to make our recipes. Since the ingredients are human-grade, they should be treated just like the food you keep in your own kitchen.
We’ve jotted down a few commonly asked questions and handling suggestons to help your pup enjoy the experience even more — and to help you feel like the confident, food-savvy dog parent you already are
How to keep the food fresh?
We don’t use any preservatives, so our meals should always be stored frozen. When your Two Zaddies box arrives, just pop a few pouches into the fridge. They’ll take about 12–24 hours to thaw. Each pouch is resealable so that you can scoop out as much or as little as your pup needs.
One quick note: if the food has been sitting out for more than 2 hours and your dog decides today is the day to be dramatic and not eat it, go ahead and follow USDA guidelines and toss it. Safety first — belly rubs second.
How much to feed?
Research shows that dogs who maintain a healthy body weight can live, on average, about two years longer than dogs who are overweight. (That’s two more years of cuddles, zoomies, and judging the mailman together.).
Every dog is different — some inhale food like it’s their life’s purpose, others act like they’re reviewing a five-course tasting menu in Paris. Just like humans, a dog’s ideal portion depends on a variety of factors. Age, activity level, and underlying health conditions can all influence how much your pup should eat.
The goal? A happy, healthy dog — not too round, not too skinny — just right in that “wiggly, glowing with joy” zone.

On the flip side, a zoomie-powered athlete may need that extra scoop. The illustration below provides a suggested baseline. Use it as a starting point, then adjust portions based on your dog’s needs, energy level, and general “vibe.” You know your pup best.
